Samsung introduces GALAXY S5, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit (video)

As you wake up to the morning (in my part of the world), you might notice that Samsung had announced the 5.1-inch Samsung GALAXY S5. It is the successor of the S4. As what many have expected, it looks similar to S4. However, many of the features come from within the handset.

As you can see from the above image, GALAXY S5 is now IP67 certified. That means it is water and dust resistant (not waterproof). And another small details is that Samsung has incorporated a heart rate monitoring feature into it. The sensor is just located below the rear camera,

BTW, did you notice the new perforated back design? In my opinion, it looks just ok. The next feature is the Fingerprint sensor. It is located in front.

There are a lot more features. One of them is the Ultra Power Saving Mode. When the mode is activated, it can last up to 24hrs with just 10% of battery juice (according to the presentation during the Unpacked event).

When it is activated, it will switch the phone from Color to Black & White and shut all unnecessary features.

What is interesting is that Samsung realized that consumers might want to change the strap. Therefore for Gear 2, the camera are all on the main unit itself. It is no longer on the strap.

As for the Gear Fit, for those people who had an active lifestyle, you might want to take a look at it. Finally, they had improved the battery life of Gear 2 from 1 day to become 3 days.

BTW, all devices have touch screen. I am still waiting for the official information of the arrival date of S5, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit in Singapore. Stay tuned.
