HUAWEI Launches the Latest Smart Office Solution in Bangkok

Huawei announces the launch of the Huawei Smart Office in Thailand, Bangkok. This is the first time Huawei held a large scale physical event with APAC media outside China since COVID-19 pandemic. The new products include the HUAWEI MateBook X Pro, HUAWEI MateBook 16s, HUAWEI MateBook D 16, and the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2.

What is Huawei Smart Office vision?

Huawei envisions the smart office as a platform that empowers people to express their creativity and communicate more freely with others.

Instead of simply connecting devices for productivity by computing devices, Huawei believes that logical thinking and effective communication are skills that cannot be replaced. Therefore, Huawei seeks to achieve with its smart office products better empowerment of users in creation and communication.

What are the features that you will see in Huawei Smart Office?

You will be hearing a lot about their Smart experiences like the AI camera, AI Sound, Super Device, Ecosystem integration and etc. These are the terms from Huawei on the future products roadmap.

Here are some interesting features of the products. I will need to hands-on with these products to see if the claims are accurate or not. In the meanwhile, check out my summary.

HUAWEI MateBook X Pro

The HUAWEI MateBook X Pro is the highest-end product during the launch. It has a 14.2-inch touchscreen FullView display with a resolution of 3,120 x 2,080 (3.1K) at 92.5% screen-to-body ratio. It includes an AI camera, 6 speakers, and 4 mics with HUAWEI SOUND for a better conferencing experience.

And at 1.26kg for its Premium Edition (it has other variants at 1.38kg), it is super portable. It uses the latest 12th Gen Intel Core Processor (Intel Evo certified). For the Premium Edition, it has a skin-soothing metallic body that uses a Micro-arc Oxidation Coating process to provide users with a comfortable grip experience and a hard-wearing surface.

The HUAWEI MateBook X Pro has support for the P3 and sRGB dual-color gamuts with an average ΔE of less than 1 (lesser is better) providing a more immersive, visual experience.

It obtains the TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 3.0 Certification which is the most comprehensive and systematic eye comfort certification standard for laptops.

The HUAWEI MateBook X Super Turbo recognizes the status of hardware, including the CPU, GPU, memory, hard disk, and battery. In addition, its real-time system-level optimization works with the Windows system, creating a more efficient, smooth experience for high-volume office work and video conferences alike.

HUAWEI MateBook 16s

The HUAWEI MateBook 16s is a workhorse. It has a 16-inch FullView display that has a few millimeters of bezel (body to screen ratio up to 90%) at 2520 x 1680 resolution.

One of the highlights of this laptop is the keyboard. In terms of comfort and using it for a longer period of time, Huawei’s keyboard designers have worked with the 2012 Lab to improve the key travel and tactility. This leads to a Soft-landing design for the keys where there is a cushion for the switches as they are being pressed, slowing them down before they land.

Other than that, it is a great multi-tasker. For heavy-duty tasks like gaming, real-time rendering, and video clipping, it uses the performance core (P-cores). For rendering output, downloading tasks, and audio, it plans its resources using the efficiency cores (E-cores).

As with Huawei’s latest laptops, it has AI camera, AI sound and is a Super Device which means it is able to connect with most Huawei’s latest devices and if you are using a Huawei mobile phone, it adds system compatibility for HUAWEI AppGallery (means you can install mobile apps for use on the laptop).

Therefore, this laptop should be great for professionals and creators, especially those using Huawei’s ecosystem.

HUAWEI MateBook D 16

The HUAWEI MateBook D 16 has a 16-inch screen running on the 12th Gen Intel® Core H-Series Processor. With its 16-inch, it weighs just 1.7kg.

It is very similar in terms of specs to the HUAWEI MateBook 16s (it has no touch screen though) and definitely a workhorse to get things done.

With the HUAWEI Metaline Antenna technology, it allows users to enjoy stable wireless networks. Even under weak Wi-Fi signals, the downloading speed is increased by 55%, while the lag in gaming and video conference are decreased by 57% and 67% respectively (based on the PR information).

So, if you are using it for productivity, this laptop definitely fits the bill.

HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2

This is the upgraded version of the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro. The HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 is co-engineered with Devialet. Both brands have combined their common pursuit of sound quality, working together to fine-tune the audio experience on HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 to ensure its sound quality.

In the year and age, noise cancellation feature is essential. HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2’s ‘Triple Mic ANC System’ boosts the average ANC depth by industry-leading 15% compared to its predecessor.

Its ‘Intelligent Dynamic ANC 2.0’ accurately identifies the external sound field environment and selects a suitable noise canceling mode that eliminates noise for comfortable listening.

On flights, the Intelligent Dynamic ANC 2.0 eliminates the aircraft engine noises, enabling users to have a quiet, peaceful journey with the exclusive aircraft noise cancellation curve (with Huawei phones running on EMUI 12 or later).

HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2’s new Pure Voice call noise cancellation technology is based on a 4-Mic Call Noise Cancellation system, combined with a Huawei-exclusive deep neural network (DNN) noise cancellation algorithm. This means the earbuds can accurately pick up human voices while improving noise cancellation so that users can experience clear sound quality for voice or video calls.

Adopting a new hidden wind-proof design, HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 can effectively reduce wind noises for users. This, in my opinion, is important if you are a road warrior or a person who is always outside the office environment.

I have yet to test it out and the information above is based on the Press Release.

Summary

Overall, depending on your needs and budget, I am sure one of them will fit your lifestyle. If you are into the Huawei ecosystem (e.g. earbuds, handphones and etc), the Huawei laptops are a perfect match.

For the earbuds, I will need to hands-on them to provide a more accurate use case for them.

Availability and Pricing

As for the availability of these devices in Singapore, I will update once I have them.
