Youtube Editing Feature Comes with Filters, Stabilizer and More (Video)

Youtube has upped the game of video sharing site by providing a suite of tools for post production work. Now, you can use filters (like Instagram or Viddy) to enhance the video and also a software stabilizer to reduce shaking in the video.

Here is the official video from Youtube on the new feature.

I tried the feature, and I must say that it is really good and at no cost at all. My initial video is at 1080p. After the video processing, it is still able to maintain at same 1080p.

I used two of the features. The Lomo-ish filter and the stabilizer. The video that I used has a lot of shake. Based on my understanding on software stabilizer (in general), it will analyze the footage and crop it so that it will appear stable. That is why, I think, the video is quite badly cropped. Anyway, you can see how much it compensate by the way the caption shake in the video.

Before

After

I do notice jelly effect after the post process. I guess it might be due to the original footage and the type of camera that took the video.
