Have You Tried Arcade Fire Wilderness Downtown Google Chrome Project?

Arcade Fire Wilderness Downtown is a Google Chrome experiment on its browser. It utilizes the HTML5, Google Maps, Google Street View and turned it into your film. Yes, you can input a postal code or address to it. Quite amazing with that sound track.

Of course, this is a Chrome Experiment and it really works well with Google Chrome. Very smooth graphics and etc.

Here is a view when I run the film. It cleverly opened up many browser windows and fixed the position. The story line is simple. One man is running down a road. A flock of birds is following him. Google Maps act as the top view, and the Street View act as the eye of the running man. The area is what you have keyed into before the film starts. My explanation is complicated? Play with it.

BTW, as mentioned, it works well on Google Chrome. I did not stop here. I tried using Mozilla Firefox Ver. 3.6.10 and also tried on Microsoft latest Internet Explorer 9.0 Beta (Ver 9.0.7930.16406) on my 64-bit Windows 7 Premium laptop.

Firefox can start the film but as expected, due to add-ons and etc, it is not smooth and distorted. I tried on IE9, it simply cannot start although it fully support HTML5.

Please don’t ask me why as I am no coder. But if you know, do share with us 🙂 . Have fun..
