LG Blogger Forum and LG Booth Visit at IFA 2010

The event started with an orientation. It was a break-the-ice session. We were informed on the itineraries for the next few days. Basically, it was a casual event.

We were split into groups and each group is supposed to complete a group task. The task is to use a Fujifilm 3D camera to take the best pictures during the LG Booth tour later.

And this is the camera, Fujifilm W3.

We need some time to get use to it. Because of the two lens apart of each other, my finger tend to touch the lens. Here is the back view.

We proceeded to Messe Berlin where IFA 2010 is held. Here is my ticket to IFA.

This is just outside the IFA entrance. We have (from left) Zahabia, Yvonne and Daniel from LG.

When we reached LG Booth at IFA, we were greeted with LG’s latest LED TV, the LEX8 Series.

It was quite an amazing sight.

Here is a close up of the LEX8.

They say seeing is believing. When I read about the LEX8 TV online, I did not imagine it to be so thin and sleek. It is also called the Nano Full LED TV for the technology used.

Look at how clean the back is.

I used my hand as reference. You can see how thin it is.

However, I still think that it did not show the slimness correctly. So, I use my HTC HD2 as a gauge.

It is almost the same thickness as the HTC HD2. And if you notice, you will realize that the bezel around the TV is actually quite slim.

Moving on, I came to another booth that showed the World’s Slimmest OLED TV around, at 2.9mm.

It is really, really thin.

Some more pics.

Some features on this TV.

Walking around the LG booths, you will realize that the future trend is 3D. There are 3D for everything like 3D LED TV, 3D Plasma TV, 3D projector and now there are also 3D sound.

In one of the demo room, we were shown 3D movie and they also played some music that is supposed to produced 3D music.

This is the equipment that is producing the 3D music.

A close up.

Next, we went on to the 3D HD Projector demo. The HD projector is hugh.

I must say that the quality of the projector is quite amazing. The best part about this projector is that you just need a polarizing eyewear to watch it. So, you do not need to worry about battery running out on the eyewear.

Here are the features of the 3D Projector CF3D.

After this demo, it is free and easy. We walked around other booths. Here is shot of (from left) Gianluca, Clara (LG) and Abbas.

The LG booth is divided into different segements.

Here is a closer look at the polarizing eyewear that I talked about just now.

In the Smart TV segment, we can see that many apps are integrated to the TV. The TV is no longer for watching TV. There are many more functions now.

At the Advanced Broadcasting System, we can see that LG’s TV have incorporated the set-top box into them. Most of them are in the Europe region.

At the Plasma TV segment, I saw a LG’s Advanced Fluid Motion Technology that is refreshes the display at 600Hz refresh rate. That is really really fast. It is used for fast moving action like motorsports an etc.

Some guys enjoying the 3G Plasma TV experience.

Finally, the last stop is the World’s largest 3D Plasma Display.

Here are the information about it.

And here is the parting shot for the day at IFA 2010. Brave (Thailand), Daniel (LG Singapore) and Abbas (UAE).

There are actually a lot more to cover. I might be back to cover them.
