FIRST FOOD ATRIA IN SINGAPORE TO INTRODUCE A LOYALTY SYSTEM VIA ITS MOBILE APPLICATION
Food Republic celebrates its 13th anniversary with the launch of the FR Rewards App
SINGAPORE, 5 October 2018 – In conjunction with its 13th anniversary celebration, Food Republic has introduced the FR Rewards App – a mobile application incorporating a loyalty system – to thank customers for their years of support. Food Republic is the first food atria in Singapore to introduce a loyalty system where customers can translate their spending into a range of perks.
“In the past 13 years, we have been actively listening to the voices of our customers. To keep up with the latest developments in the dining scene, we developed the FR Rewards App to enable cashless mobile payment in all Food Republic outlets,” said Andy Kiu, General Manager, Food Republic Singapore. “With the introduction of the loyalty system, we are able to offer tangible benefits to keep the dining experience fun and personable, and at the same time bring greater value in terms of cash savings. We also saw it as an opportunity to thank our customers for patronising us through our 13 years of operations.”
FR Rewards App – what is in it for customers
“Scan to Pay” function
The “Scan to Pay” function saves customers less delay in obtaining their food via a cashless mode. With just a convenient scan of the QR code, customers can pay for their food orders of without the hassle of dealing with cash and managing loose change.
The “Order-Ahead-Takeaway” function allows time-strapped customers to beat queues during lunchtime by ordering their food ahead, and collecting them at their desired outlet, at their own time. With the mobile application, orders can be made anywhere at their convenience, and customised to cater to personal preferences.
Upon check-out, payment will be processed and a notification will be sent to the customer to confirm that the order has been accepted by the stall.
With each purchase made via the FR Rewards App, customers will be able to earn loyalty points (1 point for every $1 spent) which in turn can be used to exchange for e-vouchers, or special deals listed on the app, giving them more bang for their buck. On top of that, customers get to receive double points for every transaction made during their birthday month.
An additional perk is that points earned this calendar year will be valid till the end of the next calendar year (i.e. points earned in June 2018 will expire on 31 Dec 2019), which allows for time to accumulate points before having to utilise it.
Promotions and deals
The FR Rewards App pushes promotions in the form of a percentage or cash discount to customers. Promotions will automatically be stored in the “Rewards” tab for easy retrieval and utilisation until it reaches the end of its validity.
Deals, on the other hand is a redemption that can be made using a specific number of points. (e.g. customers can use X number of points to redeem for $1 off at a selected stall). It is a means for members to use their points, on top of the option to exchange for Food Republic e-vouchers. Similar to promotions, “deals” are listed under the “Rewards” tab. Once redeemed, deals are only valid for 30 days.
To use the FR Rewards App, customers will have to provide their DBS or POSB bank card details, or DBS PayLah! Account details in order to make cashless mobile payments.
During the month of October, customers who make a minimum spending of $8 at any of the 14 Food Republic outlets island-wide will be able to participate in a lucky draw, where prizes including Food Republic vouchers and nostalgic premiums can be won.
The 13th anniversary celebrations will culminate on 11 October at Wisma Atria – Food Republic’s very first outlet. From 3pm onwards, 1,000 lucky customers will also get a chance each* at the sure-win Tikam booth set up at the outlet. Prizes consist of food items, beverages and Food Republic vouchers.
