IKEA Singapore partners with Life by City Energy for smart gas solutions, coordinated home design and special launch offers at Alexandra and Tampines.
By partnering with Life by City Energy, Ikea can bring smart, lower-carbon gas solutions into its one-stop Home Design Service, making it easier for homeowners to plan kitchens and bathrooms alongside furniture, storage, lighting and interiors.
Announced on 3 November 2026, the partnership is the first expansion of the end-to-end service, which has helped 300 homeowners since its soft launch in 2025. Whether furnishing a new BTO flat, renovating an existing property or refreshing a kitchen, customers can now consider gas water heaters, hobs, cooker hoods and gas dryers as part of a coordinated design. The partnership combines IKEA’s home-furnishing expertise with City Energy’s appliance and gas-installation knowledge, including smart IoT-enabled solutions designed to offer greater energy efficiency, convenience and control. City Energy says town gas infrastructure is available in all new HDB flats and, according to its 2026 data, approximately one in two HDB homes using town gas also uses a gas water heater.
The expanded service is available at IKEA Alexandra and IKEA Tampines, where homeowners can explore Life by City Energy’s appliances in the showrooms.
The journey starts with an IKEA Home Design specialist discussing the homeowner’s needs and developing a proposal. When gas appliances are selected, the specialist works directly with Life by City Energy’s experts to incorporate appliance dimensions, placement and gas-piping requirements before renovation begins; site visits and technical checks follow where needed once the customer proceeds. IKEA remains the single point of contact, coordinating cabinet installation, appliance delivery and installation, gas works and activation. IKEA handles cabinetry and relevant appliance positioning, while Life by City Energy arranges delivery, installation and gas connections through its teams and partners.
Previously, customers had to source gas appliances separately, bring back specifications and arrange deliveries themselves. Bringing these decisions and schedules together saves coordination time and helps reduce mismatched specifications, installation delays and avoidable rework.
Availability and Special Launch Offers
The expanded IKEA Home Design Service is now available at IKEA Alexandra and IKEA Tampines. To mark the launch, homeowners can enjoy special Life by City Energy appliance packages and IKEA gift cards with qualifying purchases made at these stores:
- Home Essentials Package from S$1,459 (usual price: S$1,797): Includes a Life gas hob, cooker hood and gas water heater, plus a S$150 IKEA gift card. Customers can upgrade to a Life Safety Timer Hob for S$20 more, or a Küche smart hob and hood for S$100 more.
- Hob and hood bundles from S$839: The Life Hob & Hood Bundle is priced at S$839 (usual price: S$1,112), while the Life Safety Timer Hob & Hood Bundle is S$859 (usual price: S$1,132). Each comes with a S$50 IKEA gift card.
- Up to S$100 in IKEA gift cards with a standalone Life gas water heater purchase: Receive a S$50 IKEA gift card for a new HDB or BTO installation, or a S$100 IKEA gift card when converting from an electric to a gas water heater.
- Special add-on prices with any bundle or package: Add a Rinnai gas dryer for S$1,220 (usual price: S$1,335), or a Küche smart oven at 50% off its usual price of S$1,463.
