If you have been using WhatsApp group chat, this post is for you. WhatsApp has announced 4 new group chat features. These features help to keep important information handy and bring new members up to speed on the content.
Here are the 4 new group chat features: –
- Pin messages for longer: People can now pin messages at the top of a group chat without choosing a time limit, keeping key information easy to find beyond the previous 30-day maximum.
- Share recent history after someone joins: Group members can now send recent message history to new members even after they have joined, including those who joined through an invite link. Sharing history is optional, and the messages remain end-to-end encrypted, just like other personal messages on WhatsApp.
- Share everyday moments through Group Status: A shared space for photos and updates allows members of a specific group to view, react to and add to its Status. Posts disappear after 24 hours and are only visible to members of that group.
- Filter mentions and replies: A new filter helps people find unread group conversations where they have been mentioned or received a direct reply, including @all mentions.
