LINE Unveils New Character ‘Choco’
New LINE FRIENDS character Choco will have a dedicated webpage and official Instagram account
Singapore – April 11, 2016 – LINE Corporation today announced a brand new addition to its popular range of LINE characters, named ‘Choco’. The new character, which was first unveiled at the LINE Conference Tokyo 2016 on March 24th in Tokyo, Japan, will have its own dedicated webpage and official Instagram account.
Since the launch of LINE characters and LINE stickers on October 4, 2011, LINE characters have seen huge success with users across the world. Brown, Cony, Moon and the rest of the LINE FRIENDS are now synonymous with LINE, having appeared in everything from official merchandise to theme parks and other LINE services and initiatives. Adding to this success is the LINE FRIENDS STORE, an officially licensed character goods store that opened its first shop in 2013 and has since expanded to 44 locations in 11 countries. From Harajuku to New York and Shanghai, the LINE FRIENDS STORE is now a well-loved phenomenon that serves as an important touch point between LINE and its users.
As LINE prepares to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its launch in June 2011, it will introduce a new LINE character – Brown’s little sister, Choco. A dedicated mobile-only webpage, www.linefriends.com/choco, and official Instagram account, @choco.linefriends, will allow fans to interact directly with Choco herself.
Official LINE stickers and LINE FRIENDS STORE goods for Choco are scheduled to be launched in the coming months. LINE will continue to use its range of LINE characters to strengthen its appeal and connection with LINE users around the world.
