More indoor maps added to Google Maps for Android and iOS

Received the news that Google has updated its Google Maps with 30 more indoor venues in Singapore. That means, together with the previous update, there will be more than 50 venues with indoor maps.

For those who are new to indoor maps, just zoom in to the building. You should be able to see the different levels (on the right) and also information of the units and etc. Here is the Press Release.

Press Release

Over 30 new Singaporean venues now available on Indoor Google Maps on Android and iOS

Today, we’re pleased to announce that we are extending Indoor Google Maps to 31 popular destinations in Singapore

SINGAPORE, September 18, 2013: Have you ever been frantically running around the library trying to find your study group? Or have you ever agreed to meet your mate on level four of that massive shopping mall, near one of the fountains, next to that new coffee shop you’ve never actually been to? Today, Indoor Google Maps on Android and iOS in Singapore can lend some more help in making it easier for you to find your way inside buildings.

Earlier this year, we introduced Indoor Google Maps to Singapore for the first time to help you to find your way indoors within 22 shopping malls. From today, you can navigate through 31 new multi-floor buildings in Singapore with Indoor Google Maps, including museums, convention centers, a hotel and library, and even more malls.

Iconic Singapore buildings like the Singapore Art Museum, the National Library and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel now have their floor plans uploaded to Google Maps. The maps are automatically turned on when you zoom in on a location, and then fade away when the map is zoomed out. And for buildings with multiple floors, you can also switch between floor plans for different levels — simply use the tool to the right hand side of the screen which shows you which floor you’re looking at.
