NIKE MAG hype might be over but the real work has just began. As mentioned earlier, they have 1,500 pairs of NIKE MAG (Marty McFly’s Back to the Future II) shoes on eBay auction. The real picture is the collection of the money for Michael J. Fox Foundation to fund them in their fight with Parkinson Disease.
As you may know, Michael J. Fox is a victim of Parkinson Disease too. He founded Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. One of their goal is raise as much fund as possible from now to 31st December 2012. Google’s Co-founder, Sergey Brin and his wife, Anne Wojcicki, founder of 23andme is going to match up to US$50-million in the $50-million Brin Wojcicki Challenge.
Here is Michael J. Fox’s personal message.
And here is Michael in David Letterman’s Show with the NIKE MAG.
And if you think that the NIKE MAG shoes are out of reach (some of them have reach US$15,000 a pair), here are some replicas and pins that you can purchase. I am not sure if these ceramic replicas and pins are in Singapore’s Nike shops or not.
BTW, the here is detailed post of the NIKE MAG patent. Yes, it is patented.
Unfortunately, the NIKE MAG in this edition does not come with powered lace. For those who missed the video with Doc Brown, here is an extended version of the video. It will explain why you don’t get the powered lace now.
