kooaba Smart Ads Connects Print Ad to Apple iAd (Video)

When Steve Job announces iAd, in my opinion, it opens a new way of how mobile app interact with the consumers. Now, kooaba pushes this boundary further by connecting print ad to Apple iAd, creating a new experience for consumers. Meet kooaba’s Smart Ads.

Currently, most advertisement uses tags or QR code to connect consumers from print to digital experience. However, it is not easy to create a beautiful code or tag to match the print ad. kooaba’s solution is actually simple. Using its portal, an advertiser can link the print ad with Apple iAd.

So, when consumers uses kooaba’s Paperboy app to capture the print ad, it will immediately linked it to Apple’s iAd ad that was previously linked.

Here is a video to show you how it works.

I think that it is a cool idea. If you are already an iAd advertiser, you just need to link iAd with, maybe, a print ad campaign that you already have. This will create any channel for consumers to know more about the product that the advertiser wanted you to know.

However, I do see a potential issue. If it is a print ad, not many people will want to use the Paperboy app to capture and see if it has a hidden iAd link.

People are trained to use their phones to capture QR codes or tag when they see them. And unlike QR code, you know which app to use to decode them. kooaba’s idea is so good that it is not possible to realize the link to iAd unless it is printed somewhere. Go ahead, download Paperboy app and try it (there is an image that you can try. Click the below link).
