Sony Unveils FevaArena for PlayStation Home To Celebrate FIFA World Cup 2010

Football Fans Unite! Unveiling the FevaArena for the PlayStation® Home!

Launched to commemorate the FIFA World Cup 2010, fans from all over the world can unite, share ideas and have fun exclusively on the PlayStation®Home!

Singapore, June 3, 2010 – Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong Limited (SCEH) is launching a series of events to celebrate the opening of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa in a newly-created virtual football stadium FevaArena located in PlayStation®Home, an all-new online playground for PlayStation®3 (PS3™) users. With ultra-realistic and stunning graphics presented in the 3D space of PlayStation®Home, PS3™ users can really enjoy a football experience.

Before 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa kicks off from June 11th, FevaArena lounge will have an early opening on June 3rd (Thursday). During June 3rd – July 11th, Zakumi, the official mascot of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, will appear in FevaArena everyday in the special event “Touch the Zakumi” (tentative event name). While dancing and taking photos with users in the lounge, Zakumi will also give away free reward items.

Furthermore, on June 10th (Thursday) more than 14 million PlayStation®Home users from 32 regions around the globe will be able to meet each other and have fun with a shooting game called “FevaShoot” in the very first global lounge for the PlayStation®Home, which provides a chance to football fans to transcend national borders and share their passion for football through the virtual events held in the FevaArena lounge during 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.

Other exciting activities include World Cup Museum Photo Sessions, in which a set of stunning settings featuring realistic scenery of South Africa will be put up in the lounge for up to 11 users to take photos against at one time. A full line-up of promotional clothing and items will also be available in the store located inside the FevaArena lounge for users to pick up their uniform and memorabilia to show their support for their favorite teams.

SCEH will continue to expand the service and contents provided in PlayStation®Home so as to reach more users and further promote as well as enhance the platform of PS3™.
