This is the page that I will update my Review on HTC Touch HD.
I believe many in the world had already got hold of the HTC Touch HD. Well, for me, it took quite a while as I have waited for my subscription plan to complete before “jumping” and porting my number over to Starhub.
In this review, it will NOT be talking about how great this phone is. Instead, I will try to test how good the HTC Touch HD is, with the Starhub network.
One of my reason is because I have heard about how Starhub is very unstable. I am trying to find out if this is true.BTW, Starhub is the only Telcos selling HTC Touch HD in Singapore.

Hi,
(i) Does the phone support Chinese language?
(ii) Do you think the phone worth the money with the price at ~SGD700 (2year starhub plan)?
I noticed HTC touch diamond has similar specs with HTC Touch HD, except it has smaller screen size and without external memory feature.but the price is much lower than HTC Touch HD…

Hi, Eric,
Let me answer your questions:
(i) The Touch HD (THD) supports Chinese language through the provided CEstar software package (Singapore Starhub Package).
However, if you meant the Windows OS in Chinese, it is NOT supported. Just as any WM devices, the OS has to be pre-defined. That means Chinese OS cannot be changed into English OS and vice versa.
(ii) True. However, the Diamond has a lower specs battery, smaller screen size and lower spec camera. Also, it does not have the STOCK tab.
However, if I am not wrong, it does has something that the THD doesn’t have. For example, the navigation PAD is multitouch (according to XDA Forum) and the GPS should have Compass function (THD does not have).
It boils down to usage. The Diamond is thin, smaller and with DPAD. The THD is large, without DPAD.

Hi
I just got the HTC Touch HD although I’m not a Starhub subscriber.
I’m planning to install GPS to my phone. Can you recommend me where I should get it done? Doesn’t matter if it is free download and if I need to pay.
Apologise if this query has been answered here before.
Regards

Hi, Eric,
You need to install CE Star on your computer with the Touch HD synchronising with it using ActiveSync.
This should be the correct way. Please try it and let me know if you have any problem.

Hi Joe,
I copied the CE Star from the CD and paste the files in the storage card in the hp using ActiveSync in the PC..i can see the files undergo some convertion during the pasting. After the paste, i selected SETUP.EXE file in the storage card, but it still shows the same error message ‘it is not valid poacket pc file’
Could you pls guide me on this? Tks!

Hi,Eric,
From my own experience, this is the same after I install mine. You need to register for the product.
The easiest way is to follow this Link here: http://www.mobem.com/register/cestar28r3/index.php
I actually selected register via internet option. If you choose it, just follow the instruction from the below link
http://www.mobem.com/register/cestar28r3/reg_net.php#step_enter
Good luck!
