Here are 10 things you need to know about the Google Nest Wifi

1. Coverage for your whole home

Like Google Wifi, Nest Wifi has multiple devices that leverage mesh technology, so they work together to provide reliable Wi-Fi everywhere in your house, not just right next to the router.* The devices communicate
with each other to keep your connection fast, so you can roam through the house on a video call or while streaming a movie without the signal dropping.

2. Faster, stronger, better Wi-Fi

The new Nest Wifi router is better and even more powerful than the original. With double the Wi-Fi streams and over two times the processing power, it provides up to 25% greater coverage and faster speeds up to 2.2 Gbps. A Nest Wifi router and point system is strong enough to handle more than 200 connected smart home devices and fast enough to stream multiple 4K videos at once.**

3. Perfect for any home

We know that no two homes are alike, so Nest Wifi is completely modular. A Nest Wifi router and point system is great for homes up to 350 sq. meters. If you want to expand coverage further—for example, you move to a larger home, or boost coverage on the second floor—simply add on another Wifi point and they’ll work together seamlessly. Plus, Nest Wifi is backward-compatible with Google Wifi, so you can easily add to an existing system if you have one.

4. Manages your network so you don’t have to

Most of the time, you don’t want to worry about adjusting router settings. Nest Wifi software is always working in the background, adjusting complex settings to keep your signal fast. If it discovers congestion from nearby devices, it will switch you to a clearer Wi-Fi channel. It also automatically selects the fastest band for your devices. The result is effortlessly fast Wi-Fi. No more unplugging and replugging your router to troubleshoot.

5. The Google Assistant makes your Nest Wifi two devices in

The Nest Wifi point has a speaker with the Google Assistant, which means that it can do everything that Nest Mini can do, while ensuring your home has great coverage. Use the Google Assistant to get more info about your Wi-Fi network, for example: “Hey Google, what’s my internet speed?”. We incorporated the same speaker that’s in Nest Mini into Nest Wifi, so you’ll get high-quality sound from your Wi-Fi point.

6. Set up and control Nest Wifi in the Google Home app

For a seamless experience, you can now get online and manage your Nest Wifi system from the Google Home app, the same app that controls your other compatible connected devices like lightbulbs and speakers. From the start, the Home app helps get you connected to your Nest Wifi with simple step-by-step instructions. Once you’re online, the app allows you to do things like prioritize devices, run speed tests, set up a guest network and easily and securely share your password right from the app.

9. Thoughtfully designed for your home

Routers shouldn’t be hidden in a mess of cords under in a closet because it weakens the strength of the Wi-Fi signal. This is why we designed Nest Wifi to be placed out in the open, on a shelf or countertop. The system has a beautiful, ceramic-inspired design to fit into your home decor.

Nest Wifi has also been built using sustainable materials. The router enclosure is made from 45% post-consumer recycled plastic, and the point
enclosure is made from 40% post-consumer recycled plastic.

10. Quickly get your guests online

Setting up a guest network creates a second Wi-Fi network in your home so your guests can have a great experience while your own devices stay secure and private. With Nest Wifi, it is simple to create a guest network and share the password right from the Google Home app. And if you have a Nest smart display, like Nest Hub, you can pull up a QR code for guests to scan and they’ll be online in no time.
