Pay Your Food with EZ-Link Card and Get a Free Drink

From now till 14th August 2018, you can use your EZ-Link, Concession or NETS FlashPay card at Taman Jurong Food Centre and get a free drink (subject to a minimum purchase of S$2 per transaction).

This is the first time that EZ-Link Card can be used at a hawker centre, and it is not going to stop there. There are plans to roll out this service to other hawker centres as well, thanks to the partnership between NETS and EZ-Link.

In another story regarding their plan, as reported by Straits Times, EZ-Link’s e-Wallet might become a reality next year but the problem is that users will still need a physical card or token to use it.

My only request is to get rid of the EZ-Link card totally and use an app with our NFC-enabled phones to pay for the rides (or food/drinks in this case).

We are always talking about Smart Nation but we are way behind when it comes to implementing things like this. Sorry for the rant.
