Sony Introduced CP-SC5 and CP-SC10 USB Type-C Portable Charger

Sony has released not one but two USB Type-C portable power banks (CP-SC5, CP-SC10). These might be one of the few power banks in the market that has USB Type-C input and output. Sony also released one AC Adapter (CP-AD3) that can be used to charge these power banks.

Unfortunately, there are no pricing yet for these new products. Based on past experiences, they should not be cheap. Check out the ports and power indicators on the power banks. Not sure why but Sony is calling them Portable Chargers. It is also correct, I guess.

The USB Type-C Portable Chargers CP-SC5 and CP-SC10 come in Grey, Silver, and Gold, while the USB Type-C AC Adaptor CP-AD3 is available in white. These new products will be available in Singapore from August 2016.

Take Charge with the Two New USB Type-C Portable Chargers from Sony

USB Type-C (CP-SC5, CP-SC10) Portable Charger and CP-AD3 AC Adaptor

(SINGAPORE, 12 July 2016) – Sony has introduced two new portable chargers for users of the latest smartphones, tablets and other portable devices, who are worried about its batteries being sapped as the day goes by. The new CP-SC5 and CP-SC10 chargers come equipped with USB Type-C ports that allow for the fast charging of Type-C devices, perfect for on-the-go, gadget-savvy users who constantly rely on their devices.

The CP-SC5 has a battery capacity of 5,000mAh, and consists of one USB Type-C port with maximum fast charging input and output of 3.0A, while the CP-SC10 is able to charge two Type-C portable devices concurrently with its dual USB Type-C ports and battery capacity of 10,000mAh, at a combined output of 6.0A. The CP-SC10 also allows for pass through charging, making it convenient for users to charge both the portable charger and USB Type-C device at the same time. In comparison with a regular USB-A portable charger, the CP-SC10’s charging input of 3.0A is also two times faster.
