While many companies are implementing modern apps to help update their customers, Changi Recommends chooses SMS as a mean of communication for the fact that it need not use Internet to receive information. To use this Flight Watch service, you will need to go to  Changi Recommends website and key in your flight details and a phone number to receive push notifications via SMSes.

Other than timings, Flight Watch tells travellers which counters to check in at and the boarding gates for their flights when they depart. For arrivals to Singapore, this tracking feature even notifies them on the arrival gate and belt number to pick up their check-in luggage.Travellers are advised to check SMS alerts on their mobile phone for the updated flight information.

Here are some notifications that Flight Watch can push to passengers:

In my opinion, I think it might be a good idea to reduce the data usage. However, if you are an overseas traveler to Changi Airport, it might incur overseas SMS charges which is high. Of course, there is still the reliable iChangi app that you can use. Let me know you thoughts on this service.
