Are you D1 and Only?
Singapore, 23 January 2015 – To celebrate the launch of its new evolution wireless D1 digital microphone series, audio specialist Sennheiser is announcing a contest to find the ultimate cover version of “The One and Only”, the classic pop song by Chesney Hawkes. 50,000 euros worth of brilliant prizes can be won, with the very best performer winning their very own professionally produced music video and audio recording of their cover and ew D1 systems for their band.
Runner-up prizes include fantastic new D1 wireless microphone sets, and there are more opportunities to win: the first 20 valid entries will receive an evolution wireless D1 vocal set, as will the ten best covers as voted by the public.
The ultimate winner and best runners-up will be selected by a jury of industry experts from among the 20 best entries shortlisted by a public vote. Jury members include “The One and Only” song-writer, Nik Kershaw, Anastasia Schoeck of Imagem Music, Sennheiser CEO Andreas Sennheiser, and Joel Cassady of Walk off the Earth – a band whose own covers are the stuff of YouTube legend.
Ingo Angres, marketing manager Live Performance and MI at Sennheiser, explains the contest: “The evolution wireless D1 is all about setting your performance free and taking your talent to the next stage. It removes the hassle of complex set-ups and cables and delivers incredible sound quality. When there’s nothing in the way of your creativity, think what you could achieve. That’s the spirit behind this contest – we want to see people take a song everyone thinks they know and set themselves free to make something fresh and new.“
