Dropbox reduces price for 1 TB storage, adds more features

I love Dropbox. I have Dropbox installed into every of my computers, tablets and smartphones. With Dropbox, I virtually can work anywhere. Now, here is a piece of very good news. Dropbox has revised its pricing. For 1 TB, the price is now USD9.99/month. Previously, it was 100GB at USD9.99/month and 500GB for USD500/month.

So, if you are thinking of a cloud storage solution, you might want to consider Dropbox. Of course, I believe Dropbox lowers down the pricing due to competition. Its competitors like Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive have very good pricing when compared to Dropbox prior to this reduction.

I love such kind of price wars. It only benefits the consumers 🙂 . As mentioned earlier, Dropbox has also added more features for the Pro accounts. These are the new features.

New sharing controls

Simple collaboration is one of the reasons people choose Dropbox Pro, but we’ve heard you ask for more ways to protect the stuff you share. That’s why we’re bringing new sharing controls to Dropbox Pro.

  • Passwords for shared links create an additional layer of security so only people with the password can access your link.
  • Expirations for shared links safeguard your sensitive files by letting you set how long your links stay up.
  • View-only permissions for shared folders let you pick whether recipients can edit or just view files within your shared folder.

New safeguards for lost devices

Remote wipe lets you delete your Dropbox files from a lost or stolen device while keeping them safely backed up in Dropbox. For example, if you’ve ever left your laptop on a plane, you’re not just worried about the laptop — you’re worried about the stuff that’s on it.
