Casio Launches the EXILIM EX-FR10 Freestyle Camera Designed for Fun and Recreation

Innovative two-part modular camera designed for “freestyle shooting” that captures amazing moments from any angle imaginable

Singapore, 26 August 2014: Capturing memories on camera will never be the same again with the EX-FR10, Casio’s latest addition to its EXILIM family of compact digital cameras, available in Singapore at the end of September 2014. The innovative two-part modular design enables users to explore a myriad of perspectives and camera angles currently not possible with conventional cameras today.

“The EX-FR10 is one of the most exciting and creative series in our EXILIM range of high-performance cameras. Three years ago we surprised our customers with the EXILIM TR series that came with a first-of-its-kind 360° rotating frame for more flexibility to take the ultimate ‘selfie’. The new EX-FR10 not only provides flexibility, but also unlimited photo opportunities and we are excited to see this camera in action on the streets in Singapore,” said Mr. Daniel Lee, Marketing and PR Manager, Casio Singapore.

Modular Design for “Freestyle Shooting”

The camera module easily docks or detaches from the LCD-equipped controller providing three distinct styles of shooting when using the EX-FR10. It can either function as a ‘Conventional Camera’ by docking and folding the camera module on its hinge, used in ‘Selfie’ style with the camera upright and LCD screen facing self-wards, or transformed to the innovative ‘Split’ style by detaching the module and shooting remotely with the controller or hands-free using the interval shooting function.

Users can explore even more unique perspectives by placing the camera module anywhere they wish and monitor the image composition on the LCD screen before snapping away. The module features an intuitive touch display instantly familiar with smartphone users, connects wirelessly and instantaneously to the controller via Bluetooth1, letting users truly enjoy the ultimate freestyle shooting experience with framed shots or candid moments. This two-part modular design even allows for effortless capturing of the increasingly popular back portrait shot, a method of shooting that has been challenging up until now.

Usability, Flexibility and Durability

The EX-FR10 comes bundled with various functional accessories making it a fun travel companion to take on holidays.
Use the Multi-angle Grip to attach the camera module to a backpack or switch to the Multi-angle Belt Set to strap it on the wrist or forehead to take pictures on the go or record videos with 360 degree views.

The EX-FR10 also hangs comfortably around the neck with a lanyard or conveniently clips on to belts or hooks using a carabiner for a truly hand-free experience. It also comes with its own Tripod Adaptor to attach the camera module or controller to a standard adaptor that accepts a tripod screw.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy bringing the EX-FR10 on any adventure without a worry. Weighing at nimble 175g, the camera is designed to be light and compact but also dust-proof, splash-proof and resistant to drops of up to two metres, complete with an attachable lens hood for extra protection.

Share Photos Instantly on Social Media

No adventure is complete without sharing the memories instantly with friends and family on social media, by sending images to any smartphone2 via the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi3 capabilities.

Taking the experience one step further, users can also choose from two exciting functions to design their own photo slide show or short movie. A Highlight Photo function automatically selects still images and produces a single collage of the day’s best photos with ten different collage options to play with, while the Highlight Movie function takes video recordings and turns them into short movies, complete with pre-installed background music.
