SingTel makes setting up online stores across the region a breeze with Shopify
Secure payments in local currencies, deliveries and 24/7 support
Singapore 19 June 2013 – Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) today announced it will offer Shopify’s highly successful eCommerce solution in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and India. Available from S$17 per month, the solution is an easy and affordable way for individuals and SMEs to set up beautiful online shops within minutes and accept secure credit card payments for goods and services.
Starting an online store used to be an expensive and complex experience that requires web programming and design knowledge. With Shopify’s web-based solution, digital storefronts can be set up and ready for business with a few mouse clicks. Merchants can customise their online storefronts, keep track of orders and manage customer data via a web browser. They can also enjoy the convenience of managing their business while on-the-move via Shopify’s smartphone app.
SingTel is working with payment providers in each country to enable transactions in local currencies by September. Merchants will be able to streamline their order fulfillment process and enjoy attractive shipping rates in the coming months. They will also be able to enjoy local hotline technical support 24/7.
To help merchants with their online marketing efforts and enhance the functionality of their storefronts, SingTel will offer a range of optional services such as search engine marketing, social network integration, inventory management and email marketing capabilities.
Mr Loo Cheng Chuan, SingTel Group Digital Life’s Head (LocalL!fe), said: “SingTel is excited by the tremendous growth opportunities in the eCommerce market. By 2015, 35% of internet users in the Asia Pacific region will make purchases online, and 30% of these transactions will be performed on a mobile device[1].”
