Newstead Bid to Give Charity Auction raised over S$21,000

Newstead Technologies has managed to raise more than S$21,000 in their Bid to Give Charity Auction over the two days (6th and 7th April). A total of 27 brand new laptops were up for bids at the two-day charity auction held at Jurong Point Shopping Centre.

Newstead Technologies raised over $21,000 from theBid to Give Charity Auction

Singapore, April 7, 2013 –– Newstead Technologies, a major consumer electronics retailer in Singapore, today announced that they have successfully raised $21,963 for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF) from the Bid to Give Charity Auction. The highest bidder for the Bid to Give Charity Auction was Mock Siow Ping with a bid of $1,849 for the Panasonic Toughbook CF-SX2.

A total of 27 brand new laptops were up for bids at the two-day charity auction held at Jurong Point Shopping Centre. Ang Yu Qian, a NUS student who bided for the Dell Inspiron 14 said, “I was going to buy a new laptop for my sister and decided to get one at Bid to Give for the charity element. I think it is a very good initiative and I am happy to participate.”

Civil Servant Ling Chih Kang went home with an Acer Aspire V5-131 and a Dell XPS 13. “This is the second time that I am participating in the Bid to Give Charity Auction. I was at the first Bid to Give two years ago and decided to join the auction again this year for a charitable cause.  I hope Newstead Technologies will continue to organise such events and I will definitely be here again.”
