Smoothboard Air is really an innovative product  from Singapore. Targeted for classroom, it is a collaboration software where mobile devices like iPad, Android tablets, phones, laptops can be connected to take part in the collaboration without the need to install any software (just need HTML5 enabled browsers).

I find that there are many scenarios that you can use this software. Most importantly, it is free (but you can pay to remove the registration reminder) and easy to use.

Just make sure that all the devices are connected to the same network. Do ensure that your firewall allows incoming and outgoing connections. The software will create a QR code with a password where you can scan it to collaborate using your browser.

Here are some simple steps to connect your devices.

1. Download, install and run Smoothboard Air
2. Click on Display IP on the Smoothboard Air software
3. Ensure that the mobile devices is connected within the same WIFI network with the computer
4. Scan the QR Code with a QR Code Scanner on your mobile device
5. Done! Your mobile device should be mirroring your computer display and you may directly interact with the computer from the mobile device like an interactive whiteboard surface

I find that this is really useful for classroom environment especially it has snapshot function to save the screenshot and also pen and highlighter to interact with one another.

However, for small devices like a mobile phone, the screen space is limited is actually quite a pain to use it. Do expect some lag in the network. Overall, I feel that it is an innovative product. Let me know what you think?
