Symbian Belle comes to Singapore with the launch of Nokia’s three feature-packed, mass market smartphones

Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and Nokia 600 smartphones bring the latest Symbian software update to Singapore consumers, including single-tap NFC technology

Singapore, 3 October, 2011 – Nokia recently announced three feature-packed, Nokia smartphones powered by Symbian Belle – the Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and Nokia 600, bringing single-tap near-field communication (NFC) sharing and pairing to thrill consumers in Singapore. The Nokia 701 is now retailing at Nokia retail stores, with the Nokia 700 and Nokia 600 set to roll-out at a later date.

NFC capabilities allow any of these new smartphones to be paired with NFC-enabled mobile accessories such as speakers or Bluetooth headphones and headsets. It also allows for sharing of content between devices. More than that, NFC brings great enjoyment to users, allowing users to unlock additional levels in games like Angry Birds, find a hidden blade in Fruit Ninja, and even compete with a friend at Asphalt5 – and all this just by touching two NFC-enabled devices together.

“Symbian Belle and the three new smartphones we are launching demonstrates our commitment to continue delivering Symbian products that allow people to choose what is most important to them in terms of user experience, design, functionality and price,” said Vlasta Berka, General Manager of Nokia Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. “Coupled with NFC technology, this will allow consumers to enjoy the benefits and convenience of the latest in mobile innovation and NFC-enabled services.”

While all three smartphones contain recognizable Nokia features, each comes with a distinct feature. The Nokia 700 is the most compact touch screen monoblock smartphone in the world, fitting perfectly into any pocket. For the savvy trendsetter who is on-the-go, the Nokia 701 is a sleek and stylish smartphone with the world’s brightest mobile display – even under direct sunlight.
