Canon’s LV-8320 – Bright and Light

Offers Accurate Images in Bright Conditions; Weighs 3.4kg.

Singapore, 14 September, 2011 – Canon today announced the new LV-8320 LCD multimedia projector, featuring 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution, a bright 3,000 lumens and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Weighing only 3.4kg and competitively-priced, it is the perfect companion for professionals making presentations on the go.

“Bright, sharp and accurate projection is the key to any successful presentation, and Canon’s new LV-8320 offers this in a portable package suited for the professional or academic user,” says Andrew Koh, Senior Director & General Manager of Canon Imaging & Information Products Group.

Projection in bright situations

The LV-8320 projects at a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 (WXGA), ensuring compatibility with modern wide-screen laptops by displaying inputs in correct aspect ratios without additional resolution adjustments. At 3000 lumens, projected images are both clearly visible and vivid even in bright environments.

Ecologically sound

The Intelligent Lamp Dimming System adjusts the lamp’s power output to suit the brightness of the image projected, hence reducing power consumption by a significant 69%. At the same time, the system also adjusts the color to maintain color balance at various brightness levels, ensuring that the image is always projected accurately. In additional to its ease-of-use and versatile power, the LV-8320 is designed to run for long periods without the need for frequent maintenance. The lamp has a long lifespan of up to 5,000 hours in Eco mode, and an air filter that last 5,500 hours.

Convenience and minimal fuss

For the first time, users will be able to combine two projections within a single screen, increasing convenience for presenters and adding interest to presentations. Users can either choose ‘picture in picture,’ where a small section of one picture is projected within a larger main projection, or ‘picture by picture,’ where the screen is split into equal halves. This function allows users to refer to, for example, a video or document, without switching out from their presentation.

The projector is also packed with convenient input capabilities, including the compatibility with most audio and video signals including HDMI, DVI, VGA and S-video signals. This allows effortless connections to most laptops, digital cameras, and even Blu-ray players. The Auto Input Search automatically identifies input signals for lesser fuss during setup. A built-in 10W speaker conveniently provides amplified audio where needed. Placing the projector on a surface of any height or angle is no longer a cause for concern, with Auto Keystone Correction detecting the projector’s tilt and correcting the keystone to achieve distortion-free images.

Powerful and portable

At a compact weight of only 3.4kg and a size of 350 (W) x 254.4 (D) x 87.5 (H)mm, it is the perfect choice for road warriors.
