Canon Introduces Canon EOS 60Da for Astrophotographers

For Astrophotographers out there, Canon has offered EOS 60Da specifically for that job. This Canon EOS 60Da has a modified infrared filter, which heightens the camera sensor’s sensitivity to the hydrogen-alpha wavelengths found in “red hydrogen emission” nebulae (I copied part of the text from the information I got).

Here are some of the features.

  • 18MP low-noise APS-C CMOS sensor
  • 3″ Vari-angle Clear View LCD screen with 1,040,000 dots
  • ISO 100 – 6400, expandable to 12800
  • 63-zone dual layer metering system

As a specialized product, the EOS 60Da is only available to order in select markets, from select authorized dealers. It will retail at an estimated price of US$1,499, and is expected to be available this month..

Unfortunately this model is NOT available in Singapore.
