Learn To Use DSLR with this Simulator

Nowadays, DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras are so common. However, I am not sure if everyone knows how to use it. Here is a very good simulator for you to try out various settings. Once done, take a snapshot and see the results.

As compare to film SLR, the learning curve for DSLR is definitely steep. You can just snap a shot and see the results. With this simulator, it is even easier.

You can adjust the lighting condition (outdoor, indoor) and also the modes used on most DSLRs (Shuttter Priority, Aperture Priority, Manual).

You can change the distance of the subject and the focal length of the lens.

It is a great tools for you to mingle with the settings and more fun than to set your camera to Auto. Here is a simple shot that I took with just changing the aperture settings to simulate the Depth of Field (DOF)

At F2.8 (Shallow depth of field)

At F11 (Deeper depth of field)

Form the 2 pictures, you can see that the background is more blurry on the first picture than on the second one. It is due to the effect of the aperture size.

You can adjust the distance and focal length too to get similar effect. The simulator is a great tool to let you see the relationship of your camera position and settings.
