Get Your New Straits Times App for iPad Now

It is finally here (1st August 2011), the new Straits Times iPad app. If you see the recent Straits Times, they have been talking about it. Kudos to BuUuk. Now, it is available for download at iTunes App Store. If you already have the iPhone app, just update it.

Well, I don’t know if this is meant to be but I think the app name is super wrong. It shows ST4b93.

Anyway, I think the server is overwhelmed, I cannot load anything right now.

Anyway, I will do a review later. For a start, you can see that some thoughts has been put on the app. It is actually capable of monitoring up to 20 keywords.

Currently, it is free for 5 weeks. However, if you want to read premium content, you will need to pay. Based on the settings, you can pay via iTunes.

And yes, just a thing about the “opening”. It is nice to see the Singapore River, but I would prefer to head straight to the news. And if that is not possible, could you have a key to skip the nice animation? (Right now, if you touch on the screen, it will repeat itself).

Update (1st Aug 4am): After installing and uninstalling for 3 times, I managed to get the subscription going (expiry: 31st Aug 2011) and the information displayed properly. I believe we have to wait a week or 2 for the app and server to stabilize.

Update 2 (1st Aug 9am): They have a minor update. App name fixed. Not sure what other things are fixed. Current version is 4.0.1
