How Does NASA Astronaut Take Pictures in Space

I was quite surprised with the setup. I know that they are bringing Nikon D2X in space. However, I did not expect such complications when it is to be used outside the space station.

The Nikon D2X is a standard one (from any retail shop) but the firmware is slightly customized and some lubricant modification is done. The white color thing is the White Thermal Blanke that house the Flash (SB-800).

And in order to take pictures in low light condition, a modified Nikon SB-29 sync cord  that allows them to use an auto focus illuminator in low light. There is no wireless transmitter in the setup.
