3 MILLION UNITS OF GALAXY S II SOLD GLOBALLY
10,000 units sold in Singapore one week after retail launch
Singapore, 4 July 2011 – Sales of Samsung GALAXY S II continue to exceed all expectations, with the announcement by Samsung Electronics that it has achieved global sales of 3 million units today. In Singapore, Samsung broke all sales records for its mobile phones, selling 10,000 units of its flagship Android™ smartphone within a week of its retail launch, which is about one GALAXY S II being sold per minute.

Boasting an unmatched Super AMOLED Plus viewing experience with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and access to Samsung’s four new content and entertainment hubs, the GALAXY S II provides instant access to music, games, e-reading and social networking services.
SONAR, Singapore’s first multimedia online and radio streaming app, is also pre-loaded onto the GALAXY S II, to meet Singaporeans’ demand for more entertainment and content on-the-move. In addition, the phone also features five exclusive apps that will appeal to various customer needs. These include B-Secure Tracker Pro for real-time tracking and locating of users’ mobile devices, Citi Mobile for banking on-the-go, interactive fashion social network Clozette, EZ-Link for special offers from EZ-Link’s merchants, as well as POEMS Mobile, a useful app that enables users to stay on top of their trades wherever they are.
