Sony NEX-VG10 Camcorder Hands On at IFA 2010 – Video Within

Sony NEX-VG10 has set new standard to camcorder. When it was announced in July 2010, it has set many people thinking about camcorder. One of the reasons is it can actually use lenses from their Alpha DSLR range on it.

My first impression is that it is very small. However, Sony NEX VG10 is not as small as their compact camcorder. The first 2 things that caught my eyes are the interchangeable E-mount and A-mount lenses and the Quad Capsule Spatial Array Stereo Microphone.

In the picture above, it is using a zoom lens. It makes the whole camcorder bigger. The Quad Capsule Spatial Array Stereo Microphone is actually a selling point in this camcorder too. I believe currently, no brands in the market has added such microphone in their consumer range camcorder. Sony is first to do so.

I love the zooming and autofocus. Very silent and fast (as compared to a DSLR which most of the time need manual focusing). And the unit itself is handy. The handle is useful for low angle shooting and it comes with a screen and optical viewfinder.

Here is a video of the close up of Sony NEX VG10.
