Blogger Night at Sony Style Isetan Orchard Opening

Sony has revamped its Sony Gallery. Now, it is called Sony Style and bloggers were invited to the opening launch event (night) on the 14th May 2010 at Isetan Orchard, Wisma Atria. It has a totally new look (that I like) and the public can actually touch and try out the products. It is showcasing the latest products from Sony.

The store front is already amazing. It has a nice clean look and it is now showcasing Jim Hendrix.

Check out the guitar.

We were given a wristband storage drive during our registration.

We did not know what was in for us until later when we were divided into different groups to play some interesting games.

As a start, we had a brief introduction from Mike, Sony Style Store Manager, on the new store. BTW, they have a room specially for Sony workshop.

Later, we were taken to a tour around the place by Ashley. Look, they even has a concierge counter.

And while waiting for your turn at the Sony counter (for service collection or etc), you can listen to some music.

Sony has thought of everything, including hygiene. They have already prepared wipes for the headphone, just in case.

They have also a wide range of accessories (tapes, cards, memory sticks, software and etc). While walking past, all of us were watching this guy at work.

It is the Party Shot Dock that automatically capture images of faces.

Next, we went over to the laptop section. We can see the latest product over there. Even the latest VAIO P is on display (and you can actually play with it).

Here is someone trying to “steal” the VAIO P and caught red-handed.

And here is the map of the Sony Service Centre Worldwide. If I remembered correctly, there are 32 of them (it is one of the game question 🙂 )

And walking on, we reached the camera/video cam sections. There are really a huge collection of cameras and video cameras for you to hands on. Here is Sony TX-5 going through the “torture” of submerging in water, using the touchscreen and taking pictures.

That is how hands on you can get at the new Sony Style store.

Along the wall, there are quite a number of camera that you can try out. One of them is able to capture Panorama pictures.

While some camcorders have functions for wide angle.

There are also a series of display that you can capture on those cameras.

BTW, they have a row of cameras on tripods with long zoom lens for you to capture images across the street. You should try them out.

Moving on, we reached the sound system area. We were told that the small LCD display are on purpose as they wanted the consumers to focus on the sound system.

Here is a shot of the speaker system.

And guess what they are so interested in.

Of course, it is those BRAVIA sets that can access the Internet.

Moving on, we reached the 3D TV section. It is like a cosy corner.

Check out the 3D eyewear.

Sony has been very eco friendly. Just last year, I attended their Sony Bravia launch. It showcase a set with presence sensor to detect if someone is watching TV. If there is no one watching the TV, it will automatically set the TV to picture off.

Next, we went to a section where Sony shows us how multiple Sony products can be control with a Universal remote. Resting time during the tour.

Next stop. Sony showed us the differences with a standard 50 Hz TV and the one with 200 Hz (MotionFlow).

We were coming towards the end of the tour. In this Section, Sony showcased some artwork by children in their make.believe ART Programme.

Sony Cashier Section is also slightly different now. It has a section where consumers can test the product to ensure the quality. It has all the power plugs ready and seats for you.

Finally, were were ushered back to the room to play some games. We were divided to different groups based on the color of the wrist band. It is a mini Amazing Race where we have to answer questions on Sony products or service to get the next clue.

The yellow team won the “Race” and each of them were presented a Sony Digital Photo frame.

Sorry, did not realize that the eyes were closed 😛

And what did the rest of us get? Kidding.

And we ended the day with a group photo.

If you are unsure of any Sony products, I suggest you check out Sony Style. I am quite impress with their new concept.
