Microsoft Manual Deskterity is Combining Stylus and Touch on One Display – Video Within

The moment I saw this, I tell myself I want it! If Microsoft is combining it into the Microsoft Courier, it will be perfect. This is Manual Deskterity, a stylus plus hand (or finger) input software that allows you the best of both world. Video after the break.

It is fascinating to see that we can use stylus and hand to manipulate a digital screen. And the interaction is so fluid. I wonder when this software is mature enough for the market.

From this person Ken Hinckley who posted the video on Youtube,

Manual Deskterity is a prototype digital drafting table that supports both pen and touch input. We explore a division of labor between pen and touch that flows from natural human skill and differentiation of roles of the hands. We also explore the simultaneous use of pen and touch to support novel compound gestures.
