Twitter is Allowing Advertising But…

When Twitter started, it is meant to be a simple communication platform for anyone that can express in 140 characters. When suddenly Twitter users exploded, Twitter is still maintaining the clean look without any advertising (I think the only people that benefit from Twitter are those who promote their products via Twitter). Now, in Twitter’s latest blog post, they tuned their Terms and Condition and it seems that re-confirmed that advertising is the way to go for Twitter.

Written on their TOS (Terms of Service), it mentions: –

The Services may include advertisements, which may be targeted to the Content or information on the Services, queries made through the Services, or other information. The types and extent of advertising by Twitter on the Services are subject to change. In consideration for Twitter granting you access to and use of the Services, you agree that Twitter and its third party providers and partners may place such advertising on the Services or in connection with the display of Content or information from the Services whether submitted by you or others.

So, do not be surprised that your twitter will be filled with banners and the tweet that you sent will have related advertisement on it. 🙂
