Just got a brand new review set of Western Digital WD TV Mini Mediaplayer. This WD TV Mini Mediaplayer was launched last week. The highlights of this WD TV Mini (as compared to its big brother, WD HD TV mediaplayer) is it can play RMVB files and is targeted to people who are interested in DVD quality video at a lower price tag.
The actual size of this WD TV Mini Mediaplayer is very small and it can sit on my palm with ease. The feel of it is solid. And Western Digital has made it into a nice looking black box which I like a lot.
The front part of the WD TV Mini Mediaplayer
The back as shown below. It has a (from left to right) video out (composite), video out (component), S/PDIF, Reset, power input.
It has only one USB port.
It comes with a few accessories which I will post later.
In this package, it provides: –
- Remote control (with batteries)
- 100v to 240v adapter plus 2 adapter heads for other countries (standard is 3-pin plug)
Standard video out cable
- Component video cable
- CD rom (sample music, video)
I will do a series of test on this unit and also compare it with my Thomson L6. Here is the unboxing video. I will leave the rest of the user experience in my next post.
