Although there is no official news that HTC HD2 will not be upgraded to Windows Phone 7 Series, someone has actually make an online petition to garner support to allow HTC HD2 to be upgraded to WinPho 7 Series. So, if you are a owner of HTC HD2, you may want to sign this petition.

HTC HD2 was touted to be the phone that can be upgraded to Windows Phone 7 Series previously. However, after the event for Windows Phone 7 Series, I have doubts. It seems that future phone that has Windows Phone 7 Series must have minimum specs and its seems that it is an overhaul of Windows Mobile OS. However, this picture shows that HTC HD2 is running on Windows Phone 7 Series. And according to the source, it is running super smooth.

HTC has come up with an extended battery for HTC HD2. And it comes with a stand. Kudos to them for thinking of having a stand on the extended battery. Previously, there was some rendering picture of the battery. If you compare them closely, you will realize that the actual battery is thicker. BTW, for those who owned HTC HD2, you should know that the battery sucks (literally).

For those who has not done an upgrade of the ROM and do not wish to do it because of SMS issue, this may be the solution. It is the third time that HTC has issue an SMS function update since the launch of HTC HD2. Many has lost hope that HTC is able to reliably solve the problem. I am one of them. I have missed important SMSes that may be caused by this hiccup. Nevertheless, you can upgrade the ROM or stay with it and install the SMS update.

HTC HD2 seems to get a specs boost in US. The official HTC website (for US) stated a 1GHZ Snapdragon but with a 1 GB ROM and a nice 576 mb of RAM.
