HTC Radar Appearance at Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Event

Attended the Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) launch. Two suppliers were there to showcase their latest Windows Phone. They were Samsung and HTC. Here is my short take on HTC Radar.

This HTC Radar will be available in Singapore from October 2011 at a RRP of S$569. It has a 3.8-inch WVGA display and just 1 GHz processor.

The phone has 3 front buttons as dictated by Microsoft. Consistent to HTC style, it is touch button (not physical button). Very sensitive.

For the first time, Windows Phone is getting front camera. Here is the front camera (VGA only) for HTC Radar (on the right hand side).

The overall built of the phone is very solid. It is made of an aluminium unibody. Here is a look of its back.

Back

It is very similar to the current HTC phones. On the rear, it has a 5 MegaPixels camera. One important feature is that it has a F2.2 lens. That means it will be very good for low light condition.

Here is the look of the sides of the phone.

Top

Power on/off and a 3.5 mm jack.

Bottom

Clean except for the microphone pin hole.

Side

Camera shutter button and rocker switch for volume.

Micro-USB port for charging and data transfer.

Some information on the firmware and model number (C110e).

And for those who has seen Tango app on HTC Titan, you can also find it on HTC Radar. I did not have the chance to try it out as it was not setup properly.

For those who wish to dig deeper, here is the specifications of the HTC Radar.

And if you are thinking if Singapore will get HTC Titan, HTC has mentioned that they will “consider” after gathering “feedback”. So, my guess is not to wait for Titan if you are looking for 2nd generation of HTC Windows Phone.
