Every day, when I scout through the Internet, there are tons of leaks on the up and coming Huawei flagship smartphones, expected to be called the HUAWEI P40 and P40 Pro.
There are many versions of the P40 series from the leaks. Some have 5 cameras (or they called it the Penta Camera) and some come with only 3.
The colors of the P40 series are also being leaked out. So, I guess it is about the right time to share with everyone everything about the HUAWEI P40 Series (that is leaked out). Do take them with a pinch of salt as some might be just graphics renders from enthusiasts.
Leaked Launch Date
- Date: Late March 2020
- Location: France, Paris
Technically, it might be the official date since the source of the “leak” is Huawei’s Consumer Division CEO, Mr. Richard Yu.
He mentioned to French journalists in China recently that the P40 Series will be launched in Paris in late March. Check out the source HERE.

Leaked HUAWEI P40 Design
The HUAWEI P40 has a quite standard design of 3 cameras but without the periscope optical zoom lens.

HUAWEI P40 Pro Design
Based on the leaks, the HUAWEI P40 Pro might sports a 3-camera setup or a 5-camera setup. I think the 3-camera setup seems more realistic.
Based on the 3-camera setup, there is one camera (square) that might sport a 10x optical zoom. If this is true, it is really an upgrade of the P30 Pro which has 5x optical zoom.

Or it may look like this, which is the 5-camera setup. I am not sure if this is the look that Huawei wants to achieve. Seem to be missing something.

For both leaks on the P40 and P40 Pro, they sport a punch hole dual camera front-facing camera setup.
Leaked Colors
Based on the leak, the HUAWEI P40 and HUAWEI P40 Pro will come in Black, Blush Gold, Silver Frost, Deep Sea Blue, and Ice White with gradient finish. You can check the source HERE and HERE.
