Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ in Singapore (Video)

Finally, Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S8 (5.8-inch) and S8+ (6.2-inch) at an event in New York. In Singapore, we were invited to a restaurant to watch the unveiling and of course, to have a hands-on on the products.

Thanks to Samsung, transport was arranged to the event. I had a wonderful time during the event. Check out my experience in this video.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+

The first thing you noticed when you see the Galaxy S8 or S8+ is the absence of the home button. It has been there for the longest time but Samsung chooses to hide it this time. Yes, Samsung hides the button underneath the display. Based on the live stream event, it was mentioned that the button was hidden inside the chassis. Clever.

The next thing you might notice is curves are all over the places. The screen is curved, the edges are curved and everything looks slick.

On comparison with Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, you will appreciate the look of Samsung Galaxy S8.

However, do not expect it to be bezel-less. Although it was mentioned S8 has infinity screen, it is not so. On the front, it seems like the screen has no bezel. This is because of the curve.

Here is how it looks with the screen turned on for the Galaxy S8 and S8+.

I have been using the Xiaomi Mi Mix for a while. Check out how it looks like as compared to the Galaxy S8 and S8+. I think Mi Mix is still a large phone.

I did not have a lot of time with the devices. Will share again once I get hold of them. Here is the available date, 21st April 2017, as stated during the event. According to my understanding, Singapore will also get it in April. However, there is no fixed date yet. A confirmation from StarHub this morning is that more details will be shared once Samsung confirms the availability date for Singapore.

I will blog about the accessories in another separate post. If you really want to see, watch my video. Thanks, Samsung Singapore, for the invite.
