If you have not heard the news, our Transport Ministry had recently announced that they have accepted the recommendation by AMAP (Active Mobility Advisory Panel) and as early as next year, PMD (Portable Mobility Devices) or PEV (Portable Electric Vehicle) will be legal on the shared path, pavement and on the road (Not PEV/PMD but Electric Bicycle/bicycle only).  BTW, NTUC Income announced that they are the first Insurance Company to have this Personal Mobility Guard for PEVs and PMDs.

If you want to get one PMD for yourself, this event will be a great opportunity to try out or even buy one of them back. If you are curious about the recommendations by AMAP, I am sure you can find the answers there.

If you are already one of the PMD/PEV community, be there to support it.

Details on iWheel4Fun 2016

iWheel4Fun 2016 is an event initiative by SCC Travel Services (a subsidiary of Singapore Cruise Centre), together with relevant PMD community groups (with over 10,000 in followings) such as Big Wheel Scooters Singapore (BWSS), The Wheelies and strategic PMD partners to create the First Active Mobility Carnival here in Singapore.

At this inaugural carnival that promises to be fun and engaging for all ages, it will showcase the largest range of Personal Mobility Devices in one venue (12,000 sqm). Visitors can try out different brands and PMD models currently available using a 100m long and 10m wide track that the event organizer had created.  To engage enthusiast, it is organizing its first iWheel4Fun Challenge, a time-based obstacle circuit for 3 main categories of PMDs; the electric scooter, electric unicycle and kick scooter, with attractive prizes up for grabs.

Also at this event, in collaboration with LTA’s Active Mobility Unit to launch the Safe Riders Campaign, users of Personal Mobility Devices are invited to pledge their commitment to be Safe Riders at the ‘Safe Riders Booth’, so as to promote the importance of responsible sharing of spaces so that different path users can enjoy a more pleasant travelling experience.

This event held at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (Carpark D) is an independent event in-conjunction with Car-Free Sunday SG and the organizer strongly suggested visitors not to drive, be Car-Free for this carnival.
