A not so clear picture of a dress has caused the world to be so divided that I am literally hearing people calling others crazy, stupid, colorblind. This is unprecedented (for me). And the whole argument is about the color of this dress in the picture. Is this a Gold/White dress or is this Black/Blue dress? Yes, that is the question..

The whole story started with a Tumblr post asking the opinion of the color of this dress (above). The owner of this picture is in a dilemma. Her exact words.

guys please help me – is this dress white and gold, or blue and black? Me and my friends can’t agree and we are freaking the fuck out

I guess by the time you saw this post, you might have lost some friends or argued many times over it. I am posting it to keep as a record so that in a few years/months time, I will look at the dress again and decide if it has “changed” color. .

This is a GOLD and WHITE dress!!

Some argued that it has something to do with the screen/devices where you see this picture. It could be because the white balance is off, brightness is different and etc.

BUT HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THE SAME PICTURE SEEN ON A SINGLE DEVICE BY OTHERS APPEARS TO BE IN DIFFERENT COLORS?!

You see, if it is slight color temperature or white balance differences, it should not have such diverse color variation (gold becomes black, white becomes blue).

Some sworn that it is Black and Blue no matter how I tweaked the picture with Temp, Tint and etc. I believe the experts are also clueless. Check out this article
