Before you dismiss this as yet another Samsung Tablet, you will need to read on. This 8-inch Ruggedized GALAXY Tab Active is the results of Samsung internal research and feedback from a series of advisory group workshops with Fortune 500 companies.
The first thing I noticed is the ability to change battery even though it is a ruggedized tablet. It is important because no matter how good a tablet is, without power, it will be useless.
Next is the look of it. It still looks like a business tablet even though it is rugged. Important that your tablet can handle the occasional drops or knocks. And talking about knocks, this tablet is KNOX ready
The only thing that I think is lacking is the 1.5GB RAM and the low specs of the camera. But if it is targeted for the business, it might not be very important.

- For those professionals constantly in the field, such as utility workers, near continuous usage is supported by up to 10-hour3, long-lasting battery life and you can now conserve your tablet battery life by activating the Ultra Power Saving Mode4feature available on GALAXY Tab Active which saves power significantly by changing the screen to black-and-white, and operating several essential apps, e.g. web surfing, messaging, while turning off all the non-essential services on your tablet. In Ultra Power Saving Mode, one can stretch the remaining 10% battery life to up to 160.8 hours’ (+) worth of standby time4. Moreover, the detachable battery provides a quick and easy exchange for a fresh battery when necessary for uninterrupted working. Also, the built-in POGO pin charging* prevents micro-USB connector damage while allowing for multi-device charging when returning to the office.
