To put in simply, Viber Public Chats are like other Chats where you can follow the celebrities, groups on their discussion. You cannot post content but you can read and share the content with your friends. So far, there aren’t many familiar (my opinion) global personalities for me to follow.

Singapore Users Can Get Closer to Their Favorite Personalities and Brands with Public Chats
SINGAPORE – November 21st 2014, Viber, the leading mobile communications app offering free messaging and HD-quality calls, has recently launched Public Chats in Singapore and worldwide. This new feature allows users to discover, share and interact with conversations, communities and content on mobile.
Public Chats are live discussions between celebrities and personalities that Viber users can follow. They offer a new kind of social experience – tapping into live conversations as they happen. Anyone on Viber can follow as many of these chats as they like on their mobile device. Conversations are multi-media and include text, photos, audio, video, stickers, web links and more. Users can invite friends to follow the Public Chats that interest them and can share content. The most popular chats will be featured on the home screen of the Public Chats section of Viber. Users can easily search to find out who is chatting, or they can access a chat directly through its customized URL.
During the launch event, Viber presented Singapore Public Chats partners, a mix of local personalities and brands such as non-profit group Project Happy Feet, NUS Business School, local pop band Tricks & Cider, lifestyle guide Great New Places, online tech media e27, online running magazine RunSociety, local online grocer RedMart, consumer tech blog Twenty First Tech and Singapore comedian Fuzz.
Local stand-up comedian Fuzz now chatting live in his Public Chats Comedians Asia! shared his experience on Viber Public Chats: “It’s fresh, fun and free! Three things a true Singaporean would look for!”
