Samsung launches Samsung GALAXY YOUNG 2 to battle China phones

As you may already know, Samsung always has many variation of their Samsung GALAXY Series. Today, they announced an entry level phone at a very desirable price point for those who wanted a taste of owning a smartphone. Check out the Samsung GALAXY YOUNG 2.

GALAXY YOUNG 2

With the RRP at just S$148, I think it will appeal to entry level users. Not sure if it will really appeal the young (as our younger generation are super savvy with the latest gadgets).

Looking into the specs, you will realize that it only has a single core and basic camera features. In my opinion, these specs are “too basic” for common usage nowadays.

Key highlights:

  • Dual SIM Capability to economise expenses by taking advantage of different service providers and price plans easily
  • Features a 3.5” VGA display with a 1.0 GHz processor to allow you to enjoy all your multimedia content such as videos, photos and the internet
  • Stylish soft and textured back cover provides a comfortable grip, allowing easy use with one hand
  • Enjoy the latest and most popular games from Gameloft, with free downloads on Gameloft’s top 8 games

Pricing and availability

The GALAXY YOUNG 2 will be available in Iris Charcoal and White in Singapore from 11 October at $148 from selected telecommunication operators, consumer electronics and IT stores, and Samsung Experience Stores.
