China has special walking lane for mobile users

As the world is getting so used to big screen smartphones, China has done something that other countries might try to follow. According to the People’s Daily newspaper, Chongqing City is China’s first city that introduces the “exclusive sidewalk for mobile phone users”.

I am sure if anyone is going to implement this, they will need a lot of time and effort to “educate” the people to follow this simple walking lane. It is similar to escalators in modern cities where people are taught to stay on the left or right side so that those in the hurry can go through.

If you can imagine this in Singapore. Oh wait, I think we should have our bicycle lanes first before we venture into this crazy but good idea. I believe in first world country like Singapore, if implemented, the mobile phone sidewalks will be congested with people (that is if people follow the rule).
