The elusive Moto 360 smart watch with Android Wear OS has been shown so many times to the world. However, two things did not happen: The release date and pricing. Now, from rumors, the release might be coming in weeks (4th September?) and now, Best Buy has done a great job to confirm (or confuse) the pricing.
If USD249.99 is truly the price, I think it will put off some consumers. If you realized, Android Wear is just Google Now on your wrist. It provides notifications and some information. Luckily, Motorola added a heart rate monitor on it. BTW, do know that it will only function as a watch (and heart rate monitor, in this case) if there is no connection with your smartphone.
Some specs of this smart watch.
Here are the pertinent specs as they are currently listed by Best Buy:
- Physical dimensions: 1.8″ x 1.8″ x 0.4″
- Weight: 2.1 ounces
- Case: Stainless steal w/ plastic back
- Band: Horween leather band with metal latch
- Processor: “Texas Instruments”
- RAM: 512MB
- Display: 1.5″ diagonal LCD, 320 x 290
- Heart rate
- Ambient light
- Bluetooth 4.0
- Waterproof to 3.3ft
So, lets wait a few weeks (hopefully) for the official announcement. I actually like this watch a lot more than the rest of the Android Wear watches.
