Finally, Xiaomi officially launches Xiaomi Mi4 in China. It will be available initially in China. Not sure when we (Singapore) will get it. Checking the specs and the pricing (starting from RMB1,999), it will be a real competitor to other brands.
At first glance, I thought I was looking at an iPhone (punk intended). The sweet pots about Xiaomi Mi4 is the LTE support, the nice specs and the most important (in my opinion) consideration for most consumers, the pricing.
According to their website, Mi4 with 16GB of ROM will cost RMB1,999 (approx. S$400) and with 64GB of ROM will cost RMB2,499 (Approx. S$500).
The phone itself is very thin and weighs 149 grams.
It has a 13MPX rear camera and a 5MPX front camera. Both cameras has an aperture of F/1.8. Very good!! Although there are rumors that it might have a QHD screen, it did not happen. The Mi4 has a Full HD screen with a very thin bezel besides it (2.63mm)
Processor, ROM and RAM are also up to date (of course some may expect Snapdragon 805 but it is not). It has a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 Processor, a 3GB RAM and option of 16GB or 64GB ROM.
I don’t see any external card slot. The battery is 3,080 mAh but I am not sure why it is showing just 3,000mAh in the picture above. I think the battery should be enough to last a full day with moderate usage. And according to source, MiUI v6 will be released on August 16
Finally, for your information, Xiaomi Mi4’s LTE is suitable to use in Singapore. Now, we just need to know when Singapore can get a hand on this Xiaomi Mi 4. It has to be fast. We are thirsty for new gadgets!!
Pre-order has started now. Not sure when it the official launch date but on their website, it has a 29th July 12pm availability (sales) date.
