New toys from Parrot (maker of the AR Drone) at CES 2014. Check out the Parrot Minidrone and Parrot Jumping Sumo. Both of them are in the developing phase. So, no news about availability or pricing.
At first, I thought it is a TIE fighter. Anyway, with its big wheel like protection, I am sure beginner will have a great time flying this Minidrone. However, it does not mean that the Minidrone is simple. It has a 500 MHz processor, a Gigabyte of RAM, a variety of sensors (pressure, ultrasonic, accelerometer and gyroscope) to stabilize it. It also has a vertical camera (no specs on the resolution). Check Mashable Instagram and Vine video of the Parrot Minidrone.
The next Parrot star is the Parrot Jumping Sumo. This “insectoid” robot can roll, jump up to 80 cm high and can perform 90-degree turns.
I am looking forward to see them in action and in retail soon.
