Instagram introduces Instagram Direct but there is a problem (video)

Instagram introduces Instagram Direct. Many are expecting Instagram to come up with a messaging platform. Instead, Instagram Direct is much better than a messaging platform as you can send pictures/videos to selected people. However, I have a concern.

You can now share private video, pictures with people that you choose. This feature can be found on the latest Instagram app update (version 5.0.1).

Introducing Instagram Direct!
We’re excited to introduce Instagram Direct, a new way to send photo and video messages to your friends.
Now you’ll see a new icon in the top right corner of your home feed. Tap it to see photos and videos that people have sent directly to you.
To send your own photos or videos, choose Direct instead of Followers once you’ve edited your post. When you’re done editing, just choose the people you want to share with.

Here is an intro video of Instagram Direct

At first, I thought it is quite a neat move. You can chat in private to show or receive video/pictures to or from selected people. However, after checking out the feature, I have one concern. You can practically send pictures to anyone that you follow.

Thankfully, Instagram added a feature to allow you to accept or block the sender.

If you are a prominent person (an artist, celebrity), I cannot imagine how many of this direct pictures you will receive. There ought to be a better way to accept/ignore the request (like for example, option to “accept once” or “accept from now on”).
